Youth Baseball Dominates Ford Park Schedule in May

Young baseball players ages 7 to 12 will compete in three separate tournaments at neighboring Ford Park Fields in the month of May. The first one is the United States Specialty Sports association (USSSA) “Lights Out” Tournament, featuring over 80 teams from Texas and Louisiana, held May 10 & 11. These AA Division teams will play for the right to move on to the national tournament. The weekend of May 17 & 18 sees the Southeast Texas Baseball Academy (SETXBA) “Commissioner’s Cup” Tournament. These 7-to-12 year-old Select- and Elite-level players are part of the Nations Baseball League, and this year’s Commissioner’s Cup tournament will also showcase over 80 Texas and Louisiana squads. And on the weekend of May 31-June 1, SETXBA and Nations Baseball League will hold the Nation’s “Summer Shootout” Tournament. Also for young Select- and Elite-level athletes, this competition will spotlight over 80 teams from Texas and Louisiana.
